Ibiza Token joins Polygon

Dear Ibiza Token Community,

During the last months, we have been actively working to improve Ibiza Token and facing different kinds of challenges to take the project to the next level.

Today, we are delighted to announce that, as a key part of our global strategy update, we join Polygon, a protocol designed for building and linking Ethereum-compatible (ETH) blockchain networks in order to provide scalable, secure, and instant transactions using their plasma proof of stake chain.

This important step comes after last June’s integration on Polygon. It has been the starting point of the main development of IBZ on Layer 2, which now is getting real with the launch of the first Ibiza’s NFT marketplace, in partnership with Freeverse, based on Polygon.

The first Ibiza’s NFT Marketplace will connect local content creators and businesses with a global audience. Users will be able to get real artist’s NFT collectibles and local brand membership NFTs, which provide access to real world promotions, exclusive events and unique content.

With the vision of providing further information about the blockchain world to the local community and highlight the value of this strategy update, Ibiza Token has planned the development of educational content and events where the key features and benefits provided by the Polygon ecosystem will have a relevant role.

Why launch our NFT Marketplace on Polygon?

By choosing Polygon for our NFT marketplace, we are mitigating high fees and congestion on the Mainnet, so users can reduce gas fees 1000 times while enjoying faster transactions. (see comparison)

We are confident that Polygon will contribute to scale our dApp and marketplace, increase security and onboard new users across multiple sidechains simultaneously. We are also sure that this partnership will let IBZ be part of a highly relevant ecosystem.

The ERC20 and ERC721 nature of the $IBZ tokens and $PODK collectibles (our first NFT collection featuring 5k unique pieces dedicated to the native dog of Ibiza), allows full integration into Polygon, thus empowering all the stakeholders concerned with the project.

We’d like to underline that this update of our strategy also reflects the will to integrate Ibiza Token into ecosystem protocols and be a relevant part of the Polygon ecosystem itself.

Within our strategy update, we are also planning several collaborations such as the one with NFT Studio for the development of new projects related to our new marketplace.

What’s Next?

Ibiza Token already scheduled a migration plan which includes the following tasks:

1. Migrate $IBZ token and our pools to the existing Quickswap pool MATIC/IBZ and other exchanges able to adequately foster staking and liquidity mining.

2. Build our NFT Marketplace in partnership with Freeverse on Polygon Network.

Bear in mind that Ibiza Token has already proceeded with Polygon integration, so our holders can immediately migrate and have a global overview of the progress by consulting our public roadmap.
